Who we are
Anchor Locator (the "extension") and this website are made by Kent Rabe, an independent developer based in the Philippines ("we", "us"). This policy explains what data the extension and website handle and why. If you have questions, email kedveneilrabe@gmail.com.
Data that stays in your browser
To do its job, the extension works with the page you are testing. All of this processing happens locally, on your device:
- Page content. When you pick a target and an anchor, the extension reads the structure and text of that page to build a locator. It is not stored or sent anywhere.
- Recorded steps. Steps and assertions you record, and the scripts generated from them, are stored in your browser's extension storage.
- Settings and usage counter. Your preferences and the count of free Recorder steps used are stored in your browser's extension storage. If Chrome Sync is on, the free-step counter and a browser-activation label sync through your Google account.
None of this data is transmitted to us or to anyone else, apart from Chrome Sync, if you use it. You can delete it at any time by clearing your recordings in the extension or by uninstalling it.
The only network call: Pro license checks
If you buy Pro, the extension contacts Lemon Squeezy's licensing service to activate and periodically validate your license key (Pro keeps working offline for up to 7 days between checks). To activate and check your license, the extension sends Lemon Squeezy your license key, along with an activation label like "Chrome on <OS>" plus a short random ID, and nothing else. Later checks send the license key with the activation ID Lemon Squeezy issued for that browser, which is how a license can be used on up to 3 browsers. If you deactivate Pro on a browser, the extension contacts Lemon Squeezy once more with your license key and that activation ID to free up the slot.
The license check never includes your browsing history, the URLs you visit, page content or recorded steps. If you use the free features only, the extension makes no network requests at all.
What we don't do
- No analytics or telemetry, in the extension or on this website.
- No advertising and no tracking across sites.
- No selling, renting or sharing of personal data.
- No cookies set by the extension.
Purchases and Lemon Squeezy
Pro purchases are processed by Lemon Squeezy, which acts as our merchant of record. When you check out, Lemon Squeezy collects the information needed to complete the sale, such as your name, email address, billing country and payment details, and handles it under its own privacy policy. We never see or store your full payment card details.
Lemon Squeezy shares order details with us (such as your name, email address, the plan you bought and your license status) so we can provide your license, handle refunds and answer support requests. We use this information only for those purposes.
This website
This is a static website with no analytics, no cookies and no third-party trackers. Like any website, our hosting provider may keep standard server logs (such as IP address, browser type and the page requested) for security and reliability. We don't use those logs to identify you.
Browser permissions
The extension requests these permissions, used only for the purposes described:

The use of information received by the extension adheres to the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements.
Retention and deletion
Data stored in your browser stays there until you delete it or uninstall the extension. Purchase records are kept by Lemon Squeezy and by us for as long as needed to provide your license and to meet tax and accounting obligations. To ask us to delete the order information we hold, email kedveneilrabe@gmail.com.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, including under the Philippine Data Privacy Act of 2012 and the EU/UK GDPR, you may have the right to access, correct or delete personal data we hold about you, or to object to its processing. Because the extension keeps your data on your device, in most cases the only personal data we hold is the order information described above. To make a request, email kedveneilrabe@gmail.com.
Children
Anchor Locator is a developer tool and is not directed at children. We don't knowingly collect personal data from children.
Changes to this policy
If we change how the extension handles data, we'll update this page and the date at the top before the change takes effect. Material changes will also be noted in the extension's release notes.
